The Met & Madame Tussauds (NYC day 3)

English: Even though the day before was like a marathon for us, we woke up really early and we went to The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met). I don't know what to say about this museum to describe  how mazing it is. For starters, when you pay the ticket (once again, we used the NYCPass) they give you a sort of pin that you put in your shirt, bag, camera strap, audio guide strap, anywhere where the staff can see it, so you can walk freely around the museum.

Español: A pesar de lo maratónico que había sido el día anterior, nos levantamos tempranito y fuimos a The Metropolitan Museum of Art (El Met). No se qué decir de este museo que le haga justicia a lo brutal que es. Para empezar, cuando pagas el ticket (una vez más, nosotros hicimos uso del NYCPass) te dan como una especie de botoncito que lo pones en la camisa, mochila, strap de la cámara, strap del audio guía, en cualquier lugar que las personas que trabajan allí lo puedan ver para poder caminar libremente por el museo.

New York City day 2

English: As I told you before, this day was super rough we went to not just one but TWO museums -and we thought we can make it 3, glad we decided not to-. We got up super early, had breakfast and went to our first museum: The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) -that's located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan-. How much did I paid for the ticket? I have absolutly no idea, because we used the NYCPass. We just paid the ticket for the Creatures of Light exhibition, and we paid USD 17.

Español: Como les dije en el post anterior, este día fue súper rudo porque fuimos a DOS museos en un solo día -y teníamos pensado ir a 3, menos mal que no lo hicimos-. Nos levantamos bien temprano, desayunamos en la calle del frente del hostel y nos fuimos a nuestro primer museo: The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) -que queda en el Upper West Side de Manhattan- ¿Cuánto me costó la entrada? La verdad es que no tengo ni idea, porque usamos el NYCPass. Lo que si tuvimos que pagar fue la exposición de Creatures of Light porque esta era una exposición temporal y pagamos alrededor de USD 17.

Washington D.C. & first day at New York City

English: Our flight to New York was a bit weird, because we had so many layovers... Our first layover was in Atlanta and after that Washington, where we had a 12 HOURS layover. The Washington airport is really small and there's nothing to do in it, so we look up for a hotel and we went to sleep (the cheapest -and the one that was nearest to the airport- we could find was the Sheraton). The next day we woke up super early and we ran out of the hotel to check out some sites in Washington: The U.S. Capitol and the Library of Congress. And far away we saw the Washington Monument. From the Library, we came back to the hotel to grab our stuff and catch our flight to the city that never sleeps: New York City.

Español: Nuestro vuelo hacia New York fue rarísimo, porque teníamos demasiadas escalas... Nuestra primera escala fue en Atlanta y de ahí a Washington, donde teníamos una escala de ¡12 HORAS! El aeropuerto de Washington es bastante pequeño así que lo que hicimos fue buscar un hotel (el más barato -y que quedaba más cerca del aeropuerto- que conseguimos fue el Sheraton) e irnos a dormir. Al día siguiente nos levantamos súper temprano y salimos corriendo del hotel a ver lo poquito que podíamos de Washington: el Capitolio y la Biblioteca del Congreso. Y -muy- a lo lejos vimos el Obelisco (Monumento a Washington). De la biblioteca, fuimos al hotel a buscar nuestras cosas y de ahí al aeropuerto para agarrar nuestro vuelo a nuestro próximo destino, la ciudad que nunca duerme: New York City.
